Review: G-Riser

The G-Riser needs a redesign. If I simply reach my hand around to plug or unplug a cable into the back of my G4, the tiny little niblets holding the G-Riser legs onto the base "handles" of the G4 unsnap every time.

This is less of a big deal for me personally being as though the legs are somewhat supported by the deep pile of my carpet, but if the legs were on a slick surface such as a desk or slick tile flooring, the G-Riser legs would go flying off, letting gravity have it's way with my precious G4.
The basic point behind the G-Riser is great. Lift that bad boy up a little higher so it's not only cooler, but doesn't suck all the dusty crap off your floor into your G4 case via the cooling fan.
The other obvious bonus is that you can more easily reach the unit from a sitting position with the G-Riser legs. And with as little ram as I have, accessing the reset button has become a necessity.
Bottom Line: Same as the top line. The G-Riser needs a redesign. Those snaps are way too flimsy. To make it the safest possible, I'd suggest designing it so that installing it requires that it replace the bottom "handles" by being bolted into their place.

I really hate giving bad reviews, especially to one of the coolest companies that we've dealt with to date (jb and lance are way up there too). But this is what what this section is here for. If it was all about sucking butt, I'd have to move to a host that allows that kind of porn.
